While spring is approaching Canada’s national capital, Ottawa, the Transnational Corporations Review (TNCR) team held a meeting with Professors Vinod Kumar and Uma Kumar from Sprott Business School, Carleton University on April 12, 2015.

With an aim to forge close ties, the two sides explored different areas in which future collaboration may be developed. The TNCR’s team briefed the Sprott guests the recent development of the journal and particularly the two special sessions entitled “Transnational Corporations in the World Economy: A Focus on Canada and China” co-hosted with the CEA 49th Annual Conference at the end of May at Ryerson University in Canada.

With a great interest in TNCR as an international scholarly journal, both professors offered the journal valuable advice for its excellence. They also gladly endorsed the proposal to meet the deans and professors from some Chinese business and economics schools in early June at the Sprott Business School after these Chinese scholars have completed their participation in the TNCR-CEA sessions in Toronto.

With over 2,000 students enrolled in 2014-2015 academic year, Sprott has emerged as one of the leading business schools in Canada, boasting two accreditations from AACSB and NIBS. As well-known experts of technology and operations management, Professor Vinod Kumar served as the Director of Sprott Business School for ten years and Professor Uma Kumar has taught extensively in Canada, China, India, and Iran over the past twenty years.

The meeting also involved some of the TNCR’s Ottawa-based team members, including the Special Adviser Dr. Someshwar Rao, Editorial Manager Dr. Lance Wang, and Publishing Manager Ms. Gloria Yuan. Mr. Vedmani Sharan, one of Professor Vinod Kumar’s Ph.D. candidates, was also present at the meeting with his contribution to organize this event.
