The analysis is from the published SSCI or SCI papers from 2016 to 2017 in one of first-rat university’s business school. There are 194 articles published in these two years. The number of papers published by SCI or SSCI listed journals in the last two years has shown a significantly upward trend. Among 194 articles published, 79 papers were published in 2016 and 115 papers in 2017. The annually increasing rate is 41.6%.

Great majority of published papers with three or more authors

Generally speaking, the authors in an overwhelming amount of papers (171,88.1%) are finished by team work, which are more than three persons finished. However, only slight amount of papers is published by two persons (22, 11.3%), not to mention that there is only one paper published by an individual author.

Great Majority of published papers with SCI-listed journals

As is presented in the diagram, the 112 papers are published in 94 different kinds of journals. For the 94 journals, the first amount of category is Computer Science, which account for 20.2% (19 journals). Then, the second category is Mathematics, which account for 10.6%(10 journals). Third, both Engineering and Business is on the third category, each of which accounts for 8.5%(8 journals). Management, Environmental Science, Economics, Automation & Control Systems, are equally has 5.3% (each of theses have 5 journals). It is explicitly observed that there is an overwhelming amount (77 journals, 81.9%) of the journals are belong to SCI journals, and only few journals (17 journals, 18.1%) belong to SSCI.

Great Majority of published papers with the journal impact factor between 1 and 3

Journal Impact Factor is the most significant academic measurement standard in the academic measurement. In the 94 journals, there are four journals which impact is overwhelmingly high than others (Journal Impact Fact is beyond 7). Second, there are 19 journals which indicators are significant high (which are between 4 and 6). There are 53 journals which are between 2 and 3, and shows moderate academic level compared with others. There are 18 journals which are are below 1, and express the slightly low academic levels compared with all others.

Great contributions from China for some business related research areas

It is substantial to notice the contributions in different countries and areas in these 94 journals. As can be seen, the United States and China are the most important members which contribute to the journals mostly as the first contribution, China (59 times) even greatly surpasses the U.S. (21 times) as the most important contributor for the first contribution. For the second contribution, however, US accounts for the most important members(32 times), and China is the second important contributor (16 times).

Based on the analysis above, we find some noticeable characteristics as follows. Overall, there are a significant increase for the numbers from 2016 to 2017, which reveals a substantial promotion in the papers published. Meanwhile, an overwhelming amount of the papers are cooperated, which means the tasks need a team work.  Furthermore, the journals’ fields are very diversified, and most of them belong to SCI. Indeed, the academic influence indexes are also very dispersed, and range from significant high level to moderately less high level. Actually, China has surpass the U.S. in the first contribution in these published journals; however, its academic contribution is not as equally significant as the U.S. when compared with the second and third contribution.
